Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, recently took some time off to enjoy quality bonding with his son, Bronze, at a high school football game. In a heartwarming photo shared by his wife, Brittany Mahomes, on Friday, Oct. 18, the father-son duo was seen sitting together in the bleachers, taking in the local action.
Matching in Style for a Night Out
For the outing, both Patrick, 29, and his 22-month-old son were dressed in matching casual attire. The quarterback wore a gray hoodie and sweatpants, while Bronze sported a similar crewneck and sweatpants combo featuring illustrations of sporting equipment like basketballs and hockey pucks. The little one completed the look with an adorable pair of black-and-white Air Jordan 1 sneakers. Brittany, also 29, captioned the photo, “Friday night lights 🤍,” which Patrick later reposted on his Instagram Stories.
A Family Outing to Support Local Football
The family wasn’t alone at the game. According to The Daily Mail, the Mahomes crew, including their 3-year-old daughter Sterling, attended the Blue Valley West High School football game. They were joined by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and defensive tackle Chris Jones, watching the sons of other Chiefs coaches in action. KSHB reporter Matt Foster shared his excitement on social media, tweeting, “Imagine being a HS football player & seeing Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, Andy Reid & other #Chiefs players sitting on the sideline at your game 🤩😮.”
Balancing Family and Football
Despite the Chiefs’ undefeated season so far, Patrick remains dedicated to spending time with his family. On Oct. 10, during a bye week for the Chiefs, Patrick and Brittany took Bronze and Sterling to the Fort Worth Zoo in Texas. The family enjoyed feeding giraffes, watching flamingos, and even sharing a funny moment as Patrick and Bronze had a stare-down with a lion.
Staying Connected During the NFL Season
As Patrick and Brittany prepare for the arrival of their third child, they’ve managed to keep their family close during the demanding NFL season. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Patrick shared how he stays connected with his family while on the road. “I rely on FaceTime calls,” he explained. “It makes the distance feel a little smaller when I’m away.”
Looking Ahead: Chiefs vs. 49ers
The Chiefs are gearing up for their next game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 20. With five wins already under their belt this season, the team is aiming to continue their winning streak. After San Francisco, Patrick and his teammates will travel to Las Vegas to face the Raiders the following week.
