Yosemite Nation Park

Yosemite National Park is an American national park. Its located in California. The Park is nearby  Sierra National Forest and  Stanislaus National Forest. It is managed by the National Park Service.

            It is spread over an area of ​​759,620 acres. It has been a World Heritage Site since 1984. It is internationally recognized for its clear streams, granite cliffs, glaciers, waterfalls, lakes, mountains, grasslands, biological diversity, and giant sequoia trees,

                            Almost 95 % of the park is declared as wild. It is the largest fragmented habitat block in Sierra Nevada. There are many different plants and animals. The highest recorded number of visitors to the park in 2016 was 5 million. The most for the first time in its history.

                           The Firefighters are suppressing the fire from the ground and air. Mariposa Grove is closed until further notice, with a Boeing 737-300 air tanker taking part in the operation.

Yosemite Nation Park caught Fire

Yosemite Nation Park caught fire on 7 July and burned nearly 1591 acres. A total of 360 firefighters are working from the ground and the air. The officials said the park will remain closed until further notice.

                           Due to the Fire, the park burned to Mariposa Grove. There will be more than 500 mature giant sequoias. There is no sign yet that whether the fire damaged the historic tree. The Giant Sequoia specimens are the Longest trees on Earth. These trees are found only on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range of California.

           The Longest of them are on average as tall as a 25 Floor building. Long-range makes it very difficult to control Fire and It will limit the effect of air tankers. The dead trees make it very difficult to fight against fire. The giant sequoia tree is at risk of Fire.
