Jinger Duggar Vuolo and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, recently opened up about their experience at Jason Duggar’s wedding, revealing some unexpected moments — especially on the dance floor.
In the latest episode of The Jinger and Jeremy podcast, the couple shared that dancing was not a major feature of Jason Duggar’s wedding reception with Maddie Grace. According to Jinger, the dance floor was mostly empty throughout the night, with a few notable exceptions.
Dance Floor Dilemmas: Few Guests Hit the Floor
Recalling the event, Jinger, 30, mentioned that most guests were hesitant to dance, with the floor only filling up when specific songs played. “Hardly anybody was dancing,” she said. “The only time the floor got busy was when the DJ played songs like the ‘Cha Cha Slide’ that tell you exactly what to do.”
When the DJ switched to other tracks, the dance floor quickly emptied. Jinger explained, “People either didn’t know how to dance or weren’t willing to be the only ones out there.”
A Confused DJ and a Quiet Reception
Jeremy, 37, added his observations, noting that the DJ seemed puzzled by the lack of enthusiasm. After the couple’s first dance, the DJ encouraged the rest of the guests to join in, but no one moved. He even tried crowd-pleasers like Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” to no avail.
“At one point, I went up to the DJ and said, ‘Do you know what you’ve gotten into with this crowd?’” Jeremy recalled. The DJ, unfamiliar with the Duggars’ preferences, admitted he was taken aback. Jeremy explained, “They don’t dance. This is the first dance floor at a Duggar wedding,” leaving the DJ surprised and uncertain.
Songs with Instructions: A Recipe for Fun
Jinger herself opted not to dance, admitting, “I don’t know what I’m doing out there.” However, she did notice that guests enjoyed themselves when the DJ played songs with guided steps, like “Cha Cha Slide” and “YMCA.” “Whenever there were instructions, everyone joined in, and it was a blast,” she shared.
Jinger highlighted that dancing isn’t really part of the Duggar family’s culture, making the wedding’s dance floor an unusual addition. “It was definitely a unique experience,” she said, laughing.
A Family-Filled Ceremony with Duggar Traditions
Jason Duggar and Maddie Grace exchanged vows on October 3, 2024, in a picturesque fall ceremony at The Estate at Sweetwater Creek. The event was attended by 300 of their closest family and friends. Several of Jason’s siblings were part of the wedding party, including his brothers James, Justin, and Jackson, and his sisters Johanna, Jennifer, Jordan, and Josie. Jason and Maddie’s relationship started in December 2023 when they first connected on Instagram. Eight months later, in August 2024, Jason proposed during a romantic beach setup complete with candles, white flowers, and a glowing “Will You Marry Me?” sign. The couple shared highlights from the proposal on a joint Instagram post, giving fans a glimpse into their journey toward marriage.
While the wedding had its quirks, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo seemed to enjoy the unique atmosphere and embrace the Duggar family’s traditions, even if dancing isn’t a common part of them.
