Story

• This film’s event takes place after 4 years of Halloween Kills.
• Where Laurie is living with her granddaughter named Allyson.
• She has decided to take all the fear and rage that she has been holding for the last 4 decades.
• Michael Myers has disappeared and hasn’t been seen since.
• All is calm in Haddonfield, but when a young man, Corey Cunningham, is accused of murdering a boy he was raising as a child, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that eventually leads Laurie to that evil. to face what she could not control, once and for all.

• Danny McBride confirmed that he and David Gordon Green intended to pitch two films that would be released back-to-back in June 2018.
• Jason Blum stated that “if the film performs well then we will do a sequel” in Sep 2018.
• McBride confirmed that initial development on a sequel had begun as of October 2018.
• Bloody Disgusting reported that a 3rd film was in early development with the then-untitled Halloween Kills.
• Greene, McBride, and Jeff Fradley initially planned a 2 film story, but would eventually opt for a trilogy.
• Universal Pictures revealed release dates of two sequels titled Halloween Kills released on 16 Oct 2020, and Halloween Ends going to release on 15 Oct 2021.
• Green was officially announced to be directing both films.
• Judy Greer and Andy Matichak were confirmed to reprise their roles.
• Halloween Kills moved to 2021, and Halloween Ends in October 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Green revealed that Halloween Ends will take place 4 years after the events of Halloween Kills and will incorporate elements of the pandemic into the story in October 2021.

Pre Production

• It was revealed that Kyle Richards would be reprising her role for the film in Dec 2021.
• The character was not expected to return for the film, but positive reception of Richards’ performance, the script was rewritten to give her an expanded role.
• A casting call occurred for extras in late January and Feb 2022 in numerous Southeast Georgia towns.
• It was originally planned to film Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends back to back, but this did not occur due to the Covid.

Filming

• Blum confirmed filming would take place during the summer of March 2020.
• Filming was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Production took place in 2021 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
• Courtney confirmed that filming will begin on 10 Jan 2022.
• Filming officially starts on 19 Jan 2022, in Savannah, Georgia under the working title Cave Dweller.
• Curtis began filming her scenes on 25 Jan and wrapped them on 22 Feb.
• Additional scenes were shot in Sylvania, Georgia.
• 2 weeks of reshoots were reported to take place in Savannah in June 2022.

Post Production

• Blum confirmed that the film had test screened internally the month prior and that it would be the last Halloween film from the studio in June 2022.

Release

Halloween Ends is going to release on October 14, 2022.
